šµ Listen to: something new
Ghost Funk Orchestra - A Trip To The Moon
With audio captured from conversations between Apollo 11 and Mission Control in Houghston, A Trip To The Moon is a big band situation with funk, garage rock and jazz influences. Not quite like anything Iāve heard in a long time.
šµ Listen to: something new-ish
Infinity Song - Infinity Song Essentials
You donāt often find me sharing recommendations from major labels, but these siblings have absolutely captured my heart, with all the wholesomeness of a 21st century answer to The Mamas and the Papas.
šµ Listen to: something rediscovered
Robin Jones and his Quintet - Denga
I came across this record in a recent Bandcamp black hole. Robin Jones is often referred to as the Godfather of British latin music, and the reasoning is evident on Denga. Itās an album that can get even the most reluctant of dancers to shake a limb. Originally released in 1971 and re-released by Jazz Room in 2022.
